This 5 days northern circuit safari covers all major parks of Northern Tanzania, furthermore you will have lots of opportunities to meet with local communities. This off the beaten track itinerary will ensure that you get away from the tourist comfort zone, and experience the African bush camp.
ITINERARY | Places to visit
Day 1: Arusha Town – Manyara National Park game drive
Pick up from Arusha town and depart to Manyara National Park arriving for lunch at the campsite. Afterwards proceed for an afternoon game drive at Manyara National Park. Nestling at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, the park is recognized for its incredible beauty. You can see many game animals such as buffalo, elephant, giraffe, impala, hippo and others. Late afternoon drive to the campsite for dinner & overnight at Manyara Campsite (LDBB)
Day 2: Manyara – Serengeti National Park
After breakfast depart for Central Serengeti National Park. The vast Serengeti plains cover an area of over 14,763 square kilometers and during the months of the migration, is the habitat of huge numbers of wildebeest, zebra and Thomson’s gazelle with estimates of up to 1.5 million. The Serengeti “Kopjes” (massive boulder islands of granite), standing in a sea of grass, provide shelter to a great variety of plants and animals, from the elusive leopard to the tiny dik dik. Dinner & overnight Nyumbu Campsite (LDBB)
Optional Balloon Safari: Experience game viewing over Serengeti with Champagne breakfast.
Day 3: Serengeti National Park
A full day of game drives around Serengeti. Depending on the time of year and the migration of the herds you can expect to see wildebeest, lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, monkeys, baboons, hippos, rhinos, antelopes and many birds. Overnight at Nyumbu Campsite (LDBB)
Optional Tour: Maasai village visit to learn about the Maasai ways of life.
Day 4: Ngorongoro Conservation Area – Half Day Crater Tour
After Breakfast, Drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area (with picnic lunch) into the Ngorongoro Crater for a Half Day game drive inside the crater. As very few animals migrate in and out of the crater with its 2000 ft. high walls, you can expect to see lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, many birds, to name a few. Lunch at the picnic site beside the lake. Late afternoon ascend the crater to your campsite for overnight at Simba Campsite (LDBB)
Day 5: Transfer to Arusha | Lunch | Drop off.
After breakfast, drive to Arusha for lunch at The Arusha Coffee Lodge. After lunch transfer to Arusha town for drop off.
