TARANGIRE BALLOON – FLY OVER TARANGIRE

A balloon flight over Tarangire National Park will give you an aerial view of one of Africa’s most beautiful wildlife area. The Tarangire landscape is a diverse mix of granite ridges, river valleys and swamps. Vegetation is a mix of Acacia woodland, seasonally flooded grasslands and the thousands of Baobab trees which are dotted throughout the park.

Tarangire Flight

Our balloon flight takes off close to Balloon Camp Tarangire (Nyuki camping site) and typically take a northward flight path in the direction of the Tarangire River, which name translates to “River of Warthogs “. The Tarangire River is the primary source of fresh water in the park and in the dry season, from June to November, thousands of animals including Zebras, Wildebeest and Cape Buffalo, concentrate to the park from surroundings wet season dispersal and calving areas.

The park is of course most famous for elephants and in season can be home for as many as 3000 of them. The large water features in the park, make Tarangire famous for birding and for those looking for predators, the park is also home for leopards, cheetah and tree climbing lions!

Our breakfast site is often in the Matate picnic site area which allows for a relaxing morning enjoying a hot breakfast on the ridge overlooking this most fantastic park. For many of our team at Adventures Aloft, the Tarangire balloon flight is the most picturesque balloon flight available in the Safari circuit and definitely a most special experience.
