This 2 days tour gives a chance spot big four in just 2 days. Mikumi National Park is Tanzania’s fourth – largest National Park and the most nearest and accessible from Dar es Salaam city. The park is 3230 sq. km and is situated between the Uluguru Mountains to the north and the Lumango Mountains to the south-east.
The open grasslands and abundant wildlife of the Mkata Floodplain, the popular flagship of Mikumi, similar to the famous Serengeti Plains. Lions survey the plain grasslands – and the zebra, wildebeest, impala and buffalo herds that wonder and graze across. from the flattened tops of termite mounds, or sometimes, during the rains, from perches high in the trees. Giraffes forage in the isolated acacia stands that fringe the Mkata River.
ITINERARY | Places to visit
Day 1: Dar es salaam to Mikumi national park
Morning pick up from your hotel and transfer to the airport or Ferry terminal and drive to Mikumi National Park which is approximately 5 hours drive from Dar es Salaam On arrival go for afternoon game drive in Mikumi National Park with overnight at Camp Bastian on Full Board.
Dinner and overnight at Camp Bastian (Full Board)
Day 2: Mikumi National Park and Dar es salaam
Early morning game drive to look for nocturnal wildlife raising in Mikumi national park and drive back to your lodge for late breakfast, after breakfast drive back Dar es salaam. On arrival you will be dropped to the Hotel/Ferry terminal for last ferry to Zanzibar or Airport for your flight back home.
